10 year old , Katie Liddle takes the overall prize in the East Girls Spring Meeting.

On a course that was playing long due to wet fairways and windy conditions Katie Liddle of Glenbervie won the overall prize, with an excellent net 68, in the East Girls Spring Meeting at Pitreavie Golf Club, Dunfermline on Sunday 6th April. Jennifer Allan also Glenbervie won the scratch prize with a gross 84.

Jennifer Allan (Glenbervie) was presented with the County Girls' stroke play and matchplay trophies at the S&C ladies' prize-giving at Alloa Golf Club this week. The county girls' championship was held at Glenbervie Golf Club this year. Jennifer won the qualifying and then went on to beat Andrea Walker (Falkirk)  by 1 hole in an exciting final. Andrea was presented with the handicap trophy at the prizegiving. This is a repeat of last year as the girls won the same trophies!

S&CCLGA Girls' Spring Meeting

The S&C  Girls' Spring Meeting was held today at Falkirk Tryst Golf Club. Congratulations to the winner, Rhona Cobb (Falkirk Tryst), who had a nett 69. The CSS was74.

County Girls Championship 2012

Stirling and Clackmannan County Ladies Golfing Association held their girls’ championship at Falkirk Golf Club and what a weekend it was for 15 year old Jennifer Allan of Glenbervie. 
 

Underfoot conditions were very wet following all the rain there has been his year but this proved no barrier to Jennifer. She won the stroke-play championship with a gross 81. 

Runner up was Andrea Walker of Falkirk Golf Club with an 83. Andrea won the handicap prize with a nett 74 (83 – 9).  The CSS was 73

 

Qualifiers and draw  for the Matchplay championship were:

 

Jennifer Allan (Glenbervie) 81 v  Beth Donoghue (Alloa)  93

Andrea Walker (Falkirk) 83 v Catherine Goodwin (Glenbervie) – 91

 

In the Sunday morning semi-finals Jennifer beat Beth 2 and 1 and Andrea beat Catherine 3 and 2 to set up a final between the two leading qualifiers. 

 

Andrea was probably a slight favourite around her home course and took an early lead in the final  but Jennifer squared the game at the 7^th and then went ahead with a  birdie at the 8^th. 

Andrea levelled the game at the 12^th but when Jennifer won the 14^th and 15^th to go 2 up there was no way back for Andrea and Jennifer ran out winner by 2 holes. 

The final was played in a most sporting fashion with the losing semi-finalists caddieing for Jennifer and Andrea.
